Welcome to Frock Consciousness. This site is dedicated to interior design, exterior/home design, and style. I hope you enjoy.

I came up with the name Frock Consciousness after hearing Rosemary Hill speak on the London Review of Books. The phrase, which was coined by Virginia Woolf, addresses the social, economic, and cultural exchanges in what one wears. Woolf was intrigued as to what made her attracted to clothes, and how clothes was interpreted by others.

Picking up from that curiosity, this website highlights clothes as well as interior design styles that I am attracted to. How one presents themselves and their homes says something, and that something can mean different things to the owner vs. the viewer. That’s also what makes design and style fun–they are expressions of who we are and/or who we want to be.
